Ministry of Education adds 27 experimental regions for campus football reforms

China News reports that the National Youth Campus Football Work Leading Group Office and the Ministry of Education have approved 27 new experimental regions for campus youth football development in China and have published the list of regions on the website of the MOE. 

The 27 new regions for campus football reform and experimental regions are: Tianjin, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Zhejiang Province, Fengtai District Beijing, Handan, Dalian, Haerbin, Nantong, Bengbu, Wuhu, Quanzhou, Nanchang, Linyi, Luoyang, Xinxiang, Jingzhou, Changsha, Guangzhou, Meizhou, Beihai, Shapingba District Chongqing, Mianyang, Liupanshui, Xi’an, Yan’an, Baiyin and Shizuishan. 

The regions were selected based on evaluation of cities, provinces and autonomous regions that had submitted applications to become one of the campus football reform regions. The call for submissions was made on July 31 by the MOE. 

In 2015 and 2017, the first two groups of campus football reform regions were  announced by the MOE, with the first regions being Xiamen, Qingdao and Korean Autonomous Prefecture of Yanbian and the second batch being Shanghai, Yunnan Province, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, Binzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu and Lanzhou. 

Now with the release of the third new group of experimental regions, the total number of the campus football reform and experimental regions in China is 38. 

These regions will be expected to increase their efforts and emphasize the development and reforms of campus football education and training under the guidance and basic requirements made by the MOE.
