The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today (January 8) that their NBA China Games 2019 Presented by Vivo will be held in Shanghai on October 10 and in Shenzhen on October 12, with two teams Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets participating.
This is the second trip of Lakers to China with the first trip in 2013 for NBA China Games, the third trip of Nets to China with their first two trips for NBA China Games in 2010 and 2014.
It will mark the 27th and 28th NBA Games in China and 17 NBA teams have played in China Games in cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Macao, Shanghai and Taipei since 2004.
The China Games 2019 will also feature some fan activities, including the eighth annual NBA Fan Day Presented by Dongfeng Nissan. Chinese celebrities will play a match and the two NBA teams will participate in on-court drills. Lucky fans will team up with celebrities and players from the two teams to compete in shooting contests. NBA China’s media partner platforms will broadcast live and stream the NBA Fan Day. NBA and its partners will also conduct NBA Cares activities for communities in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
The NBA China Games 2019 are presented by Vivo, promoted and produced by iRENA, and co-produced by AEG Presents. The games will be available in more than 200 countries and territories on television, digital and social media.
