On the morning of July 3, the English Premier League club Manchester United FC opened a Preview center in Beijing for Manchester United Experience Centers to be opened in China. In addition, they also released a new Chinese-language mobile app for their Chinese fans. The ceremony took place at the Preview center which is located at BeijingFun, a pioneering culture, shopping and office area in the famous Qianmen Dashilan Area, close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The Group Managing Director of Man Utd., Richard Arnold and three legendary players attended the ceremony.
The Manchester United Experience Center is still under construction and will fully open in 2020. In addition to Beijing, Shanghai and Shenyang will also open a Preview center and the club plans to land more experience centers across China in the future.
The centers aim at providing memorable visits for Chinese fans to enable them to experience the club, its history and the culture at home and to have locations to celebrate. Take the newly opened Preview center in Beijing as an example, there is a full-scale replica of the Old Trafford’s Trinity Statue, an interactive showcase of the club’s historical moments, a replica of the players’ tunnel and changing rooms and a Manchester United Megastore that is the first of its kind in mainland China.
The Manchester United Chinese app that was launched today will provide club news and exclusive videos for fans in China, as well as a way for fans to engage with the club. The app is now available for both Android and iOS devices.
