On April 22nd, Shanghai Education and Sports Bureau gave a press conference to announce that 2015 Shanghai Campus Football League (SSFL), sponsored by a Shanghai based sports media company, will be held from the end of April to June.

As reported, there will be over 100 million yuan invested by the major sponsor and other investors to boost the campus football league in Shanghai for the next three years.

The money will be used in facilities promotions, apparels supplies and match operations.

There will be 3 different groups of participants based on their level of education. Interestingly, female international students from New York University Shanghai will group the first ever international team to join in the women group of this competition.

As the number of participating teams grows there will be 159 matches in total to be played which doubles the number of last year.

The director of this league, Wang Ping told the media that the development of campus football would enlarge the base of football supporters and even promote the football development in Shanghai.
