English Premier League soccer side Liverpool FC has announced that tyre manufacturer Maxxis International has renewed its contract as a global sponsor of the club for a further two years.
The new agreement would see the Taiwan-based tyre manufacturing giant, which distributes to more than 150 countries, benefit from match-day LED placement and digital advertising in return for its ongoing support of the Reds.
The company first began working with Liverpool FC in 2009 and this deal paves the way for their partnership to enter a third term. Maxxis will now sponsor Liverpool until the end of the 2016/17 Premier League season.
Derek McMartin, managing director of Maxxis International, said: “Our partnership with Liverpool has been in place since 2009 and been very beneficial for both parties.
“Asia is now a highly important market for English football clubs, and Europe is a rapidly expanding market for us – so there’s a lot of synergy there. Add to that the fact the club has over 4.5million followers on Twitter and 26million on Facebook and it becomes very clear that our two brands combine for the perfect collaboration.
“We’re extremely excited to cheer on the team and see how the season unfolds.”
