International Wushu Federation (IWUF) has banned Malaysian athlete Tai Cheau Xuen for positive traces of banned stimulant in her system found in doping test after Asian Games.
According to press reports,she has been banned for four months until March 20, 2015, and has returned her gold medal gained in the Asian Games.
Shanghai Daily reports that the Malaysian governing body received the notice in a letter last week from the International Wushu Federation. However, they have been defending for the athlete, saying that she "unwittingly ingested sibutramine via health supplements and a slimming product", according to Global Times.
International Wushu Federation is based in Beijing, China, founded in 1990, and has 147 member organizations across the world as published on its website. It was accepted as an offcial member of the General Association of International Sports Federations on October 22, 1994. The body hosts a number of regional and international wushu games every year, including World Wushu Championships, Wushu Tournament etc.
