They were welcomed by Manel Arroyo, the vice president of the Marketing and Communication Department and Jordi Cardoner i Casaus from the Social Area and FC Barcelona Foundation.

The two sides have agreed to a partnership that will see them work together in the social media business.

A club spokesman made a speech outlining Barca’s current status re brand promotion and social media. According to the speech, the club has a strong social media pedigree in the western market, where its Facebook pages have a combined total of 88 million followers.

With the rapid development of internet and mobile devices, Barcelona will increase its focus on  club culture and events promotion.

As a world-class internet company, Tencent is striving to advance its influence in sports social media. In addition to acquiring broadcasting rights, the company will expand its businesses in e-community operations, user engagement, virtual reality, and online-to-offline services. It is proud to partner with Barça to help the club raise its awareness in China.
