Heilongjiang Lava Spring, a Chinese water company, announced that they have acquired Anhui Litian Football Club, who compete in China League Two. Last Friday, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) posted a notification to confirm the deal.
As reported in news stories, the club, renamed as Heilongjiang Lava Spring FC, will move to Harbin in the new season.
As the acquisition has been completed, the new owner will invest heavily in the operation and management, which will be beneficial to the club’s hopes of promotion to China League One.
The soccer club was formerly based in Hefei, Anhui Province. The Hefei Olympic Sports Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,000, was their home venue.
Recently, the CFA have launched new rules which prohibit all trans-provincial club movements. In other words, the purchase will make the club a permanent Heilongjiang team.
Another China League Two side, Fujian Broncos FC moved to the city of Yancheng and changed their name to Jiangsu Yancheng Dingli FC in January 2016.
