The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) has announced a three-year deal with China’s leading internet-based sports company Le Sports on Rally China.
The partnership will enable Le Sports to exclusively operate and promote Rally China which is to be held in Beijing from Sep. 9-11. In addition to the event promotion, Le Sport has also acquired the exclusive new media rights to 14 Rally China competitions in China up until 2018.
The deal will also enable Chinese audience to access live global WRC events through Le Sports’ Super TV, smart phones, PC platform and mobile APP.
Qiu Zhiwei, vice president at Le Sports’ Event Operation, said “WRC has returned to China after 17 years.”
“Based on the booming auto industry in China, I believe, the partnership between Le Sports and WRC will bring Chinese supporters a different experience with their introduction to the Rally Championship and racing culture,” Qiu added.
Rally China, which was first organized in 1999, will be back in China after a gap of 17 years. The 2016 Rally China will take place in Beijing in September.
