By Nong Ruowen 30 Jun 2017

As reported by the Xinhua Agency, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced on June 27 at a media conference that they are preparing to enter Team China’s U20 men’s football team into the German fourth tier of the Bundesliga, having negotiated with the DFB, the governing body for football in Germany.

According to the CFA spokeswoman Huang Shiwei, this project’s main purpose is to improve these players‘ game time experience in a higher level football league. Huang introduced the coaching plan to China’s U20 players who are currently training in Germany who were likely to be the key players in their bid to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Apart from announcing this project, CFA also appointed Beijing Sport University Vice-Chancellor Chen Liren as the head coach of China’s women’s football team. This appointment was reported by the media prior to the official announcement with Huang explaining the main reason for this appointment.

“This appointment aims to develop a more diverse team structure in the national team and to leverage the management experience of other strong team sports and organizations.” stated Huang.
