By Nong Ruowen 31 Oct 2017

October 28: At the Yanjing Beers Sports Center, Beijing, global trials for the Chinese National Rugby Teams took place, welcoming athletes from all over the world who are specialists in athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, hockey and other sports disciplines.

Organized by the Chinese Rugby Football Association (CRFA) and Beijing Guoao Golden Laurel Sports & Culture Corporate, the trial attracted nearly 70 athletes. The chosen athletes might have the chance to compete for the Chinese national rugby teams at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The trial was divided into two sections with the morning session including 10 meter and 40 meter sprint tests and vertical jumps, while the afternoon session involved practice rugby matches under the direction of two coaches.

Since the launch of the trials, released in August, 2017, the CRFA have received applications from all over the world. More trials for the teams will take place in other cities in China in the upcoming days including Shanghai, Chongqing, Hangzhou and Wuhan.
