October 31: Having captured the rights to develop specialized mobile games for the Chinese Super League (CSL) in 2015, iRena and Zongheng, an entertainment-focused company, have officially released three CSL-content mobile games at a launch ceremony in Beijing.
At the ceremony, the company also unveiled the ambassadors for these mobile games, Guangzhou Evergrande’s Huang Bowen and Beijing Guoan’s Yu Dabao. What is also worth mentioning is that the players from the Chinese national team which competed in the 2002 FIFA World Cup will also be featured in the three games.
Additionally, under the partnership between the CSL and iRena, the league will help in promoting the games on Weibo, WeChat and its App. It is also reported that the league and the CSL clubs partnering with iRena will receive financial returns once the game becomes profitable.
In fact, the launch of the 3 games can be regarded as a further step for iRena in the eSports area. In August, iRena set up an international league of sports-content eSports together with their partners, Ourgame and Gamepoch, two of the leading gaming companies in China.
