Having welcomed their Chinese minority owner John Jiang last year, the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves embraced another Chinese partner on October, 2017. At a signing ceremony, the NBA team signed a 3-year partnership deal with O-RANGE SPORTS in the area of youth basketball training.
This partnership will see the Shanghai-based youth basketball organization become the team’s exclusive partner in youth basketball training in China.
The Timberwolves will offer their overall support to the company, including sending their coaches to deliver O-RANGE SPORTS’ training courses and designing an exclusive coaching plan covering basketball skills and physical training.
Reportedly, O-RANGE SPORTS will bring a group of Chinese coaches and young players to Minnesota this season where they will have the opportunity to attend a Timberwolves game and participate in the Timberwolves & Lynx Basketball Academy camps.
Under the partnership, the Timberwolves will also help with media integration for O-RANGE SPORTS which will attract more Chinese basketball enthusiasts to reach the team and support them.
Media reports have also said the two sides had confirmed the terms of the agreements prior to the NBA China Game 2017.
