October 10, Tianjin: The Volleyball Academy of China has held their inauguration ceremony at Tianjin University of Sports at Tuanbo.
The Academy, co-founded by the Chinese Volleyball Association and Tianjin Sports Institute, has a sports stadium for international events, a gym with 10 standard volleyball courts, two indoor beach volleyball courts and advanced rehabilitation devices, training facilities and other equipment.
The Academy will become the short-to-medium-term training destination for Chinese national teams, provincial and municipal teams, along with overseas teams, which will serve top players, coaches, referees, managers and clubs.
Chinese volleyball legend Lang Ping has been appointed the president of the academy. “It is a significant attempt for the Chinese Volleyball Association and Tianjin Sports Institute to establish the academy. This place will become a platform for fostering quality talents.” Lang said, “as the first president of the academy, I will make efforts to reach the strategic goals made by the Association.”
