The 2018 League of Legends Pro League (LPL) has begun with energy drink brand, War Horse, renewing their sponsorship contract with the league.
It was in 2017 that the two sides joined forces with each other for the first time with War Horse becoming the official drink of the 2017 LPL. As reported by the financial news website p5w.net, War Horse organized marketing campaigns surrounding the 2017 LPL in internet cafes around China, while also presenting their products at league venues.
This year, War Horse will remain in its position as Official Drink of the 2018 LPL, claiming that they want to engage more eSports fans to “enjoy the excitement of eSports”.
War Horse is an energy drink brand launched in 2016 by REIGNWOOD Group, a Thai-Chinese property developer founded in Thailand in 1984 which introduced Red Bull products into China in the 1990s.
The LPL is the top flight league of the League of Legends in China Mainland consisting of a Spring and Summer season. The first edition of the LPL was the 2013 Spring season.
The top three finishers in the playoff tournament finals receive automatic qualification to the League of Legends World Championship. Playoffs are an eight team single elimination tournament with each round a best-of-five series.
