Nike appoints new management in Greater China

NIKE, Inc. announced today two general management appointments that strengthen the company’s global leadership in key business areas.

“Michael is a proven leader whose vision was instrumental in driving growth in Greater China”Michael Spillane has been appointed VP and GM of Global Footwear, effective June 1, 2015. In this new role, Michael will be responsible for leading Nike’s global footwear strategy and will report to Jeanne Jackson, Nike’s President of Global Product and Merchandising. In his current role as VP and GM of Greater China, Spillane led the strategy to reset the market in Greater China, delivering strong growth and successful brand positioning in one of Nike’s most important geographies.

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Spillane has also held a range of NIKE, Inc. positions including CEO of Converse and CEO and President of Umbro, where he oversaw its divestiture in 2012.

Angela Dong will replace Spillane as VP and GM of Greater China reporting to Elliott Hill, President of Geographies and Sales for the Nike brand. Dong is currently CFO for Greater China.

In her new role, Dong will be responsible for shaping the vision and growth strategy for Greater China – all while continuing to elevate our brand and create strong consumer connections.
