China’s National Volleyball Administrative Center (NVAC), the governing body of the sport in China, is publicly seeking partners in the commercial operation of its volleyball leagues (for both men and women).
An official said they launched the open tender as the 10-year deal that the NVAC signed with CCTV Sports and Entertainment will expire on 31stAugust. Furthermore, the NVAC hopes to promote the leagues through a new partnership with expert sports companies.
The move is also aimed at findinga new title sponsor for the China Volleyball Association (CVA) League, which terminated the contract with its partner last October. Moreover, the NVAC hopes the leagues will get more exposure on new media in addition to traditional TV broadcasts.
Some analysts think sports companies like Ti’ao Power, which has acquired the media rights to the CSL, might be interested in tendering for the CVA League.
