TCL strikes sponsorship deal with Neymar Jr.

As Tencent Technology have reported, TCL, one of the leading manufacturers of electronic products and home appliances in China has appointed football superstar Neymar Jr. as the Global Brand Ambassador for its brand. 

TCL’s President & CEO Li Dongsheng first disclosed this breaking news on his own Weibo account. Some details of the two-year agreement have been published by the PR Newswire. 

Over the partnership period, Neymar Jr. will feature on TCL TV and print commercials across its major sectors, including TCL Multimedia (the group's TV business) and household appliances. Meanwhile, the two sides will work together for charity with Neymar Jr. participating in a series of global online and offline marketing campaigns for the brand. 

PR Newswire also explained that the deal between the two parties is “part of TCL's global brand strategy and will help TCL embrace a wider audience of young sports fans worldwide and raise TCL's global brand visibility.”

TCL was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Huizhou, Guangdong Province. It designs, develops, manufactures and sells products including television sets, mobile phones, air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators and small electrical appliances. 

In 2010, TCL was the world's 25th largest consumer electronics producer. According to the data by Statista, it became third largest television producer around the world by market share in 2013.
